Brereton Manor has been a family owned and operated Personal Care Home for over 45 years. Founded by Joan and Paul Berdiner, Brereton Manor continues the Berdiner's Family commitment. Mrs. Berdiner is a Licensed Practical Nurse with many years of experience working in nursing homes. She was a frustrated supervising nurse at a skilled care home in the 1960's when she decided she had something more to offer seniors. Her vision was to provide a place where seniors could live in a clean, stable, and safe environment, but make it resemble a private home or apartment as much as possible. Bill Boyd, the present owner and administrator, maintains the philosophy that staying small gives elders the personal care that they deserve.
Boni Zeigler, Assistant Administrator and the next generation of the Berdiner family to join Brereton Manor believes in the philosophy that choice is an important aspect of life at the Manor. Together, Bill and Boni encourage residents to be part of the decision making process and support their elders as individuals. Brereton Manor offers a family an oriented personal care home that is steeped in Lancaster county tradition.
Brereton Manor is licensed to have 35 beds; however, there are typically only 24 residents at the home, one resident per room. With 23 people on staff, the excellent staff to resident ratio assures you'll receive personalized care that you want and deserve.
